The Foundation exists so that Bahay Nakpil-Bautista flourishes as a recognized architectural masterpiece, a nationally significant historical site, a center for community activities and urban revitalization, a forum for nation-building, and a platform for projecting Filipino art and culture internationally.

 To achieve this, we:

  • Perpetuate and promote the nationalistic and artistic legacy of Dr. Ariston Bautista, Julio Nakpil, Francisco Nakpil, Gregoria de Jesus and other Nakpils:
    • by preserving their property, documents, and works of art;
    • by encouraging study into their lives and achievements; and
    • by informing others about their legacy.
  • Help deserving but needy individuals or families in furtherance of the philanthropic spirit of Dr. Bautista and of the service-oriented philosophy of the Nakpils;
  • Foster activities that help the local community, revitalize the city, and build a strong sense of nationhood; and
  • Use the house as a platform for projecting locally and internationally the various Philippine arts.
