Dr. Ariston Bautista – A fellow Propagandist and friend of
Philippine National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. He risked arrest by distributing Rizal’s forbidden novels. Dr. Baustista developed a cure for cholera similar to paregoric acid.
Julio G. Nakpil – Appointed Vice-Presiding Supremo of the Katipunan by Andres Bonifacio whose widow, Gregoria de Jesus, he later marries. Composed “Marangal na Dalit ng Katagalugan” (Noble Hymn of the Tagalogs).
Gregoria de Jesus – Second wife of Andres Bonifacio who helped organize the women’s chapter of the Katipunan. After Bonifacio’s death, she married Julio Nakpil with whom she had six children.
Juan Nakpil – Eldest and only son of Julio and Gregoria. Pioneer in 20th century Philippine architecture. Examples: Quiapo Church (after 1929), Quezon Institute. National Artist for Architecture.
