I became part of the sector Bahay Nakpil because I wasn’t able to attend the implementation of my former sector due to a family problem. So my professor put me in this sector as an alternative. When I learned that I was going to Bahay Nakpil I immediately asked where is that place. My professor said it was located across the Quiapo Church, when she said that I was shocked because I have never heard of that place before.
We had a meeting about what we are going to do during the implementation. Our plan for the implementation was a field trip to the National Museum. During the first day of the implementation what we did was we met the kids and their parents. We oriented them on what we are going to do. The kids needed to choose who they want as a sister for the field trip. It was fun cause it was like a game and it has an element of surprise because they don’t know whom they’re going to end up with. Then we got to know our siblings and bonded with them. The next day we met up with the kids at Bahay Nakpil. I was so excited because I’ve never been to the National Museum. The kids and their parents were excited to. The curator of the museum toured us around the museum. I was so amazed with the paintings and the fossils. At the end of the tour we went to the nearest park. While we were waiting for our lunch the kids had already ran around the park. I enjoy watching them play. They are so amusing. Then it was time to go home. The parents and the kids thanked us. Seeing them happy makes me happy too.
My visit to Bahay Nakpil was very enriching. I learned something about our country’s history. I also learned how to act around people I don’t really know. I think my group mates and I did a very successful job. I also learned that we need to appreciate our history may it be big or small because without it we wouldn’t know were we have come from. The most important thing that I learned about this experience is that we need to give back to the less fortunate ones.

I concluded that even though Bahay Nakpil is in the center of Quiapo that full of aggression, this place remains a historical background to us Filipinos. First I felt that this exposure trip will be unexciting because of the location and the people who live there but after I went there I realized that Bahay Nakpil let us feel that we are like one happy community. Also, Bahay Nakpil is the place that makes me aware on what happen on the big part of our history. I also realized that while I am in Bahay Nakpil I saw Quiapo in a different perspective because Bahay Nakpil become strong institution despite of those noises and overcrowded streets around it. I also discovered that we Filipinos have this historical place aside from the Quiapo Church. I am also happy because I met different people that make me more aware about my surroundings. The Bahay Nakpil made a way so that we can share blessings to other people most especially to children who need more knowledge and care. Bahay Nakpil made me realize and understand the value of life and how lucky is to be a part of that exposure. I am grateful because that historical place gives us time to reflect and to communicate with other people especially to me and to my other group mates. I am thankful because Bahay Nakpil gives us also a chance to build friendship not only to us Miriam students but also to the people in that community. The existence of Bahay Nakpil makes me realize that Philippine history was not yet forgotten. The time that I allotted in that exposure is worth it because it makes my weekend happy and full of wisdom.

I for one really enjoyed our exposure trip. It made me think about a lot of things and helped me realize how lucky and blessed I was. I was truly pleased when I saw that our project was a success. Actually, I was genuinely excited about this project because it was a chance for me to share my blessings with others.
It was quite a fun day for me because I got to spend time with the kids and I also got the chance to observe them as they looked at the paintings and relics in total awe.
It was truly a heartwarming moment that I would not soon forget.

I was originally from LEBD group. I didn’t know what to expect from Bahay nakpil. All I know was that our sector is in Quiapo. We came in bahay nakpil and we were given an orientation about the history of bahay nakpil and at the same time we also gave an orientation to the kids and their parents of what we have prepared for them for the next day and the rules to follow in the National Museum.
I was amazed how rich their history is and disappointed at the same time that not many people visit and realize how important the place is in our history.
The kids were fun and energetic. We played games with them that really tired us because they were so full of energy. In their young age they really took an interest in our history. When we went to The National museum they kept asking questions about the paintings, figures and especially about Rizal.
After National Museum we had lunch at Luneta Park. We had food delivered from Mc donald’s and we let the kids play around the park. They really enjoyed the slide and see-saw from the looks of their faces. We also had raffle drawn and then we came back to Bahay nakpil and stayed there for a couple of minutes and then went home, tired but happy. It was truly a great day.

It’s been a while since we last visited Quiapo in Bahay Nakpil. I felt quite weird when I first went their to Quiapo, honestly, I felt really unsafe because of the previous knowledge that I have about the place. When Dra. Obusan oriented us, the students of Miriam College about the place, I felt better. Since I went there for the second time already, I was now more familiar and actually more comfortable about the place.
We left the school at around eight or eight thirty. Again, we rode the jeep and passed through Quezon Avenue. We settled down first when we arrived their in Bahay Nakpil. Soon after settling down we already started preparing the things that we will need for the Field Trip that will be held on the second day. Registration started as soon as the Barangay Tanods and their families came. The Tanods along with their wives went ahead and left their kids with us. My groupmates and I played with the kids. Russalie, our leader was the one who administered the games. Some of us were busy preparing for the field trip and keeping the kids to stay in one place. I really had fun interacting with the kids from the community of Quiapo. After the games we gave the kids their merienda. When the kids left, my groupmates and I just talked about what we will be doing for the next day of the exposure. After our meeting, we left Bahay Nakpil since we don’t have anything else to do anymore. While we were on our way back to the school, most of us were quiet but Tin, Lia and I can’t help but share how excited we were to go back on the second day. The first day was a blast and I can’t wait to go back in Quiapo and play with the kids there. I got too excited but nothing happened. Too bad I didn’t make it on the second day of the exposure because something came up and I had to be with my family. If I would get another chance to go back there I will go there in Quiapo without hesitation.
